About the Reverse Logistics Association
The RLA is a trade association focused on Reverse Logistics. Since 2002 it has sponsored conferences and training events related to reverse logistics. RLA publish the Reverse Logistics Magazine which addresses the issues with both news and educational articles.
In their understanding, Reverse Logistics is synonymous to Aftermarket Logistics, Retrogistics, Aftermarket Supply Chain and Reverse Supply Chain. Types of activity common with reverse logistics includes: logistics, warehousing, repair, refurbishment, recycling, e-waste, after market call center support, reverse fulfillment, field service and many others. |

Call for a Standard: Cross Industry Product Registration and RMA Data Forms Product Life-Cycle Management has become the focal point for much of the increased productivity and improved performance of many corporations. Both forward and reverse logistics are important components of business optimization. The lack of basic standards in the vocabulary and data processing aspect of these important business processes hampers continued improvement of these functions.
With the approval by the SEC of XBRL as a standard for financial reporting, the technological basis for creating standardized forms and data fields related to product registration and RMA processing are available. All that remains is that the relevant stake holders organize to address this task. The stake-holders include: finance (as related to SOX compliance), marketing, support, QA, and logistics. Each stake-holder contributes to the overall performance of processes related to the product life cycle.
The Reverse Logistics Association has agreed to sponsor such a standards creation effort. Connexus has agreed to spearhead this project. For more information, please contact us.
